Bills owner Terry Pegula said Wednesday that he would like to have a first round pick in 2018, but the team’s 2018 first-round selection, the No. 12 overall selection, is on the trade block.
The Bills have a $1.5 million trade exception for 2018.
They also have a cap space to sign another player to a contract for next season.
It is unclear if they will use that space.
The Buffalo Bills will have $3.9 million available to spend in 2018.
The organization will need $2.6 million for salary-cap relief.
The team will also need to cut ties with a number of players.
The players with no guarantees are wide receiver Marqise Lee, running back Wendell Smallwood and cornerback Cyrus Jones.
