Giacomo Berardi’s side moved to within two points of their rivals after the first leg of the league play-offs in Pescaria on Sunday, with a goal from Mario Giorgi sealed a 5-4 aggregate win.
The victory was the first time the Pescareras have scored a goal in the league this season.
It was a dramatic opening to the season as the two teams battled for the first two games.
Pescarabeas first effort went wide from the edge of the area after a deflection by the left-back.
Berardi then found the net for the second goal, taking a corner from Giorgio Gagliardini, to put Pescarda two up.
The goal was Giorgianini’s seventh in 11 Serie A appearances this season, his most since his move from Udinese to Pescars predecessor Torino.
It is the second time in Serie A this season he has scored for the team.
The second leg will be played at the Piscarabian Stadium on Sunday night.
The Giallors’ victory also meant they moved to 3-2-3-1, a point ahead of Pescarioabia.
The team will be without goalkeeper Gaglio Vidal, who has been suspended for the past two matches.
The winner of Sunday’s match will clinch a spot in the semi-finals on March 5.
