Mario Balutelli’s return to Manchester United was greeted with joy by his team-mates.
Balutelli scored twice for Italy, including the winner against Slovakia, but he had a tough time getting on the scoresheet.
He was substituted on 22 minutes after a tackle by defender Giorgio Chiellini, who could be seen in the dressing room after the match having a look around.
The Italy international was then substituted again on 59 minutes when his team lost 3-1 to Slovakia.
But Balutlli’s return came as a relief to the United fans, who had been expecting a few extra goals for the player who had not been part of the team in the past two years.
The 34-year-old has scored eight goals in 34 appearances for the Red Devils, who are seventh in the Premier League and 11 points clear of leaders Chelsea.
